Hello everyone! The last time you heard from me I was just beginning my time in Antigua. And now I am finishing up my time here! We have one more week of Spanish classes and then we are leaving Antigua bright and early Monday morning. We have seen and done so many things over the past 6 weeks so it’s hard to know where to begin this post. But, in order to keep this brief, I’ll just share a few highlights!
Natalie and I spent one weekend at Lake Atitlan enjoying the beautiful view and exploring multiple towns around the Lake.
Another weekend we happened to meet four girls who were also in Antigua learning Spanish before heading to Honduras to do very similar Catholic missionary work as us. We ended up going to breakfast and a soccer game with them which was such a gift!
Natalie and I have also been able to learn a ton about the culture and history of Antigua through exploring churches, museums, ruins of convents, and celebrating Independence Day on September 15th with the Guatemalans!
As my time in Antigua comes to an end, the long-anticipated wait to begin my life at the Finca is finally becoming a reality! Although I am sad to say goodbye to the amazing Guatemalans that have become family over the past 6 weeks, I am ready to leave the city and begin my adventure at the Finca. I have already seen the Lord moving in my life and in my heart in so many ways over the past 6 weeks in Antigua so I can’t even begin to imagine what the next year will look like at the Finca. Although I know this next year will have it’s share of challenges and trials, I am sure that it will also be filled with so many graces. Please continue to pray for Natalie and I as we prepare to leave Antigua and begin our life as missionaries at the Finca! Know that you are all in my prayers as well. Thank you for your love and support!
¡Hasta luego!
~Kenna
